Spoke to a Notts fan earlier today and he said he was gutted that we bought him as he was immense for them - Beast of a lad and can see him doing well for us.

He's still a MONSTER. Built more like a boxer than a footballer.

Love watching him. He's relentless. Thought that the job he did as emergency right back was outstanding. Some lovely skill the other day too and the goal was fantastic and very, very difficult.

Watched the cup replay on TV and he looks to have lost a little of the bulk he had earlier in the season.
Don't know if it was the TV playing tricks, anyone else noticed if he has changed weight at all?
He is not getting knocked off the ball, so cannot see it making a difference in that department.

Sitting four rows from the front of the west stand I get to see a lot of Antonio close-up.
At the risk of sounding a bit metrosexual I love the way he looks at the end of a game- covered in sweat from head to foot and gasping for air. When you see him in the flesh you have absolutely no doubt that he's given West Ham everything he's got.
At first I thought he couldn't trap a ball but I think that kind of ungainly way he's got is in its way a bit of a trick. Instead of trying to take all the momentum out of the ball and stop it at your feet (which looks lovely) he seems to use the momentum to bounce the ball in the general direction he wants to go and relies on his pace to catch it up.
I also love the trick he has of chipping the ball over a defenders head and bombing past him and the way he shaped-up for that volleyed goal the other night was a bit special.
So for a player who's a bit rough around the edges (according to some) he seems to win man-of-the-match awards in the stadium quite a lot. When you're sharing a pitch with Dimi Payet that's pretty fucking impressive.

The one to set up the penalty that wasn't was very nice.

Not sure sure why people say he's not skillful. Played some lovely touches on Tues.

Slow start and at first I didn’t think much of him and wondered WHY?
But taken his chance when it came and seems to be establishing himself as a regular now and getting the goals and some lovely touches and awareness at times, keeps getting better and looking a real gem of a signing.
Long may it continue………

He's ironically probably the guy most likely to force his way in for an England call up. It's certain that worse players than him have been called up by the current incumbent. And with Sterling and Sturridge both very injury prone, there are worse players to have in the bench than Big Mic.
A real goal threat who's showing he's strong and adaptable. Not a classy player, but very effective.

Once again, there were several posters on here who instantly wrote him off. Same for Reid, Randolph etc. You know who you are!

Antonio, obviously, isn’t the finished product yet. For all of the fear he might strike into the hearts of Premier League full backs, running madly as he does like a runaway shopping trolley, it is still a style that reeks of a lack of control, more blunderbuss battering than cold, cool dissection. But he has massively improved as a player, and the team has improved as a whole because of it, over these last 12 games. It is encouraging too, for everyone, that, with a little grit, a player can play their way from deep on the bench, out into the warm limelight, even in the moneyed, honeyed world of Premier League football.
Nice.

Vital player who was initially rushed in play when given his chance, borne of an over eagerness to please i suspect
Got his head down, scored an early goal and relaxed
Stunning purchase who has had his sensible and hard working nature harnessed by splendid man management
He is the embodiment of the new way at the club, well sourced, well managed and bloody well performing on the pitch

Gav, are you saying we should play 7 in midfield?
1-2-7-1 formation? Might work I suppose.

He's all strength and industriousness in contract to Payet's trickery and Lanzini's passing game. Add in Obiang, Kouyate, Noble and Song and you have a fantastic midfield.
Where we are really lacking is up front but that will be addressed in the summer, hopefully.

In my opinion, he is starting to look like the real deal and a very influential player for West Ham.
Not the same type of player as Payet or suggesting he is in the same class but whilst I was previously worried about where our creativity or attacking drive would come from without Payet in the team, I think Antonio can be equally as effective for us.
He is starting to add the odd bit of skill to his game too which only comes with confidence.
Good lad, be great to see him become a top top player for us.

Nagel, fair points. Wouldn't dispute any of that. Never realised quite how bad Moses stats were.

Re: Antonio Article

There were a lot of games in the first half of the season where I really disliked how Moses was playing and had just about given up on him when he'd create a goal scoring opportunity out of nowhere. Trouble is that didn't happen too often and he doesn't offer much defensively either. He has pace and power but little else about his game and he just seems lazy - almost as much as Zarate but not quite.
Even if you just look at the basic stats he's had 1 goal and 2 assists in 13 starts, compared to Antonio's 8 goals and 3 assists in 16 starts. Those stats aren't good enough for a player in a front 3 and he's been the same at all his clubs really. 14 goals in over 140 PL games is a poor return for the position he plays.

All this slagging off of Moses is unfair. Moses is okay, especially with his return from injuries
